Woman Known as 'Neighborhood Grandma' Killed in Tragic Accident in Houston

A woman known as 'the neighborhood grandma' is dead after being hit by an 18-wheeler in northeast Houston. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the woman, identified as Lisa Smith, stepped in front of the truck. The driver stopped and discovered he had hit Smith, who was not in a crosswalk.
