Police chase ends in crash into building near Grand Rapids, 29-year-old Grand Rapids-area man in critical condition

A police chase in Plainfield Township, Michigan ended in a crash into a building near Grand Rapids. The Kent County Sheriff's Office reported that around 2 a.m. on Friday, a deputy attempted to pull over a car for driving without taillights on. The driver turned into York Creek Apartments but did not stop and continued onto Lamoreaux Drive at high speed.

The vehicle eventually crashed into a building, leaving the driver - identified as a 29-year-old man from the Grand Rapids area - in critical condition. He was taken to hospital where he remains under medical care.

Authorities are investigating possible factors that may have contributed to the accident such as speed, seatbelt use and drugs. At this time no further information has been released regarding any other individuals involved or if there were any damages caused by the collision.
