Pedestrian pronounced dead at hospital

A man was struck by a driver while walking on a South St. Paul street early Tuesday, according to the South St. Paul Police Department. The victim later died from his injuries.

The incident occurred around midnight on the 1600 block of Concord Street, where arriving officers found an elderly man in the street with significant injuries.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities, per police reports.

At this time, neither the pedestrian nor driver have been identified by law enforcement officials.
