Teen girl Samantha Anders killed in Wayne Township crash

Irwin was airlifted to Miami Valley North Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a tragic accident occurred in Wayne Township on Tuesday resulting in the death of a 16-year-old girl. Samantha Anders, from Dayton, was riding as a passenger in a minivan driven by Anna Irwin when the incident took place. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Clarksville Road and failed to stop at an intersection with State Route 73. The minivan collided with the left rear tire of a Freightliner tractor-trailer around 10:45 am.
The crash caused fatal injuries to Anders who was pronounced dead at the scene while Irwin sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Miami Valley North Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no harm came to the driver of the semi-truck involved.
As per OSHP Lebanon Post's confirmation, "the crash remains under investigation."
