Rochester Man, Timothy Umling, Injured as Vehicle Crashes into Bus Stop

A Rochester man sustained minor injuries on Sunday night when a vehicle crashed into the bus stop where he was sitting. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on Wakefield Street in Rochester, according to the local police.
The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling south on Wakefield Street when they veered off the road and plowed through the bus stop before becoming stuck in a fence. At the time of the crash, Timothy Umling, a 60-year-old resident of Rochester, was resting inside the bus stop. Fortunately, he was the only person present and managed to escape with only minor injuries.
Captain Todd Pinkham stated that upon their arrival at the scene, they found Umling just outside of what remained of the destroyed enclosure. Glass and debris were scattered everywhere due to its complete destruction. Despite this, Umling's injuries were deemed relatively minor.
The driver of the Jeep has been identified as Elizabeth Laroche from Strafford who is 22 years old. She was alone in her vehicle during this incident and suffered minor injuries as well. Laroche has since been charged with driving under influence (DUI), reckless operation, and using an electronic mobile device while driving.
Laroche is scheduled to appear in court next month to address these charges.
Coast Bus Service has not provided an estimated timeline for replacing the damaged enclosure but assured passengers that regular service will continue uninterrupted at that location for now
