Two Killed in Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-95 in Stafford County: Jonathon Booth and Kevin Paddeu

Two fatalities, one minor injury
A tractor-trailer driver has been charged with reckless driving following a tragic multi-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two individuals on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Interstate 95 North near the Centreport Parkway exit.
According to Virginia State Police, a Freightliner tractor-trailer carrying a hefty load of beer was traveling northbound in the center lane when it attempted to merge into the right lane and collided with a Nissan Altima from behind. The impact caused both vehicles to swerve into the left lane where they crashed into a Subaru Forrester also heading northbound. All three vehicles then struck the left side guardrail before the tractor-trailer overturned onto the Nissan and Subaru.
Tragically, both drivers of the smaller vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The deceased have been identified as Jonathon Booth, aged 50 from Fredericksburg, who was driving the Nissan Altima; and Kevin Paddeu, aged 67 from Quinton, who was operating the Subaru Forrester.
The driver of the tractor-trailer has been identified as Wheelman Andrews, aged 58 from Carrollton. He sustained minor injuries in this devastating accident and received medical treatment at Mary Washington Hospital before being taken into custody by authorities. Andrews has since been charged with reckless driving and was released on an unsecured bond after appearing before Spotsylvania Magistrates Office.
All three drivers involved in this tragic collision were wearing seatbelts at the time according to Virginia State Police reports.
The closure lasted for approximately five hours while all northbound travel lanes on I-95 were shut down for safety reasons. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) provided assistance in closing the road and establishing a detour for affected motorists.
