Fatal Train vs. Semi-Truck Accident in Lisbon, Iowa

One person was killed.
According to state officials, a fatal accident occurred in Lisbon, Iowa on Friday, May 12th. The incident involved a train and a semi-truck in a rural area located east of Lisbon. Emergency services were dispatched at approximately 1:36 p.m. to the scene of the crash on the 120th block of 115th Street.
The Iowa State Patrol and other agencies responded to reports of an accident involving a truck attempting to cross tracks when it was hit by an eastbound train on its driver's side. It is unclear whether the person killed was in the train or truck.
Emergency response teams from various departments including Lisbon and Mount Vernon Police, Fire, and Ambulance Services; Mechanicsville Fire Department; Iowa Department of Natural Resources; and Iowa Department of Transportation were all involved in responding to this tragic event.
In an update provided by the Iowa State Patrol after their initial report suggested two fatalities, they clarified that only one person had been killed as a result of this collision. Further details regarding this incident have not yet been released by authorities.
