Two dead after car accident during police pursuit in Waterloo

Two people have died in a car accident during a police pursuit in Seneca County, according to deputies. The incident occurred on Thursday when the police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at 12:54 am on Burgess Road in Waterloo. However, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Antonio M. Herbert, 27, of Waterloo, sped off with no headlights on at high speed.

A Waterloo Police officer noticed the violation and turned their car around but was unable to catch up with the speeding vehicle. Unfortunately, Herbert lost control of his car and hit a tree resulting in both him and his passenger Egypt G. Harris, 18 from Romulus being declared dead at the scene.

Deputies confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in this fatal accident which demolished Herbert's vehicle upon impact.
