A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Springfield, Missouri resulting in the death of a two-year-old boy. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, troopers responded to an accident at a private property near Springfield Fire Station 12.

Sergeant Mike McClure with the Highway Patrol stated that the driver had pulled into a driveway of a private property and hit the child. The child was immediately taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The driver who hit the toddler was arrested for suspicion of impairment and was also taken to a hospital for unknown injuries. Sgt. McClure revealed that both individuals shared the same last name.
