David Simmons Dies in Overnight Crash on I-270 in St. Louis County

One Man Dead After Crash on I-270 in St. Louis County
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a man died in a crash that occurred overnight on Interstate 270 in north St. Louis County. The victim has been identified as David Simmons, aged 28, and his next of kin have already been notified.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday near New Halls Ferry Road when Simmons was driving too fast and too close to another vehicle before he attempted to avoid crashing with another driver. Unfortunately, he ended up striking another vehicle, left the roadway and overturned.
Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene while the other driver did not suffer any reported injuries.
The MSHP crash report revealed that speeding and tailgating were factors leading up to this tragic incident.
As always, drivers are urged to exercise caution while behind the wheel and obey traffic laws for their own safety as well as others sharing the roadways.
