The incident occurred when a Ram pickup truck driven by Shane Umstead hit the back of a Hyundai Elantra, causing it to collide with an oncoming dump truck. Charles Taylor, a passenger in the Elantra, was pronounced deceased at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
