Gerald Perri, 54, was driving north on Mechanic St. at approximately 3:14 a.m. when he veered off to the side of the right side of the road and crashed into a parked car in someone’s driveway. Perri was ejected from his car and died at the scene.
A cement truck went off the right side of the road and into a ditch in Berwick, Maine. The driver of the cement truck was reportedly uninjured. Blackberry Hill Road was closed for several hours while crews worked to remove the truck.
A woman was injured in a crash involving a cement mixer on I-95 in Newburgh. Diane Mailhot, 72, of Dexter, was brought to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
A man died in a pickup truck crash in Auburn, Maine. The truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a tree. Two others were injured.
Four-vehicle crash involving Zachary Elwell in Waldoboro. Route 1 closed for a while Tuesday morning. Elwell and another driver taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A driver in Kennebec County, Maine, escaped a sinking truck after crashing into a pond. The driver, 19-year-old Chase Cloutier, was driving at a high rate of speed when he went off the road, broke through a guard rail, crashed through trees before sinking into the pond. Cloutier was able to swim to shore and had minor injuries.
Carmel Road North is closed from Meadow Road to Western Avenue in Hampden at this hour due to an overturned fuel tanker that spilled fuel onto the roadway. No word yet on injuries.
A fatal crash in Casco involving two vehicles has left one person dead and another critically injured. Dylan Chretien, 19 of Bridgton, died in the crash. A 20-year-old man from Casco was flown to Maine Medical Center with critical injuries.
Maine State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Belgrade. The occupants of the car were taken to the hospital and released. No injuries were reported for the six children and driver aboard the bus.
