Oviedo police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Mitchell Hammock Road and Sharon Court. The accident resulted in one fatality and shut down the road from SR 434 to Lake Jessup Drive. Police and fire crews are on scene.
A 57-year-old Wishek man died in a crash Thursday morning on Highway 13 in Logan County when the concrete truck he was driving rolled over. The loaded concrete truck’s left steer tire blew and the truck rolled over into the ditch. The driver was thrown from the truck.
A rollover crash on Alligator Alley involving a Corvette and a box truck resulted in the death of the truck driver. The box truck caught fire and burned for about 15 minutes before firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. The westbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours.
A man died after a single-vehicle crash in Union County. James Alexander, 68, of Raymond, was traveling northbound on SR 739 while driving a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban at around 7:30 p.m. Alexander crossed the center line and veered off the left side of the road striking a ditch and utility pole before the Suburban overturned.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car accident that killed 30-year-old Milan Patel in Huron County. Patel was driving a white Toyota Camry when he travelled off the right side of State Route 61 and struck a ditch, traffic sign and tree. He was not wearing a seat belt and was trapped in the vehicle. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
A Texas state trooper was hit by a vehicle and ended up pinned in between cars while assisting a drunk driver stuck in the middle of I-10. The driver who crashed into the officer died. The trooper sustained lacerations to his face.
A 40-year-old man was killed in a single-car crash in southwest Atlanta on May 27, 2023. The crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. near Tucker Avenue. The driver veered off the road and crashed into a concrete pillar supporting the MARTA train. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
