The incident occurred when the man, identified as Matthew DeAngelis, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into another vehicle. Three passengers in the other vehicle were rushed to the hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries.
Four people were injured in a crash between a horse and buggy and a 2020 Ford Explorer in Lancaster County. The crash occurred when the driver of the SUV got distracted looking down at the GPS on his phone and rear-ended the buggy. Two people were discharged with minor scrapes and lacerations, while the other two remain in the hospital for treatment on their injuries.
One person is dead after a crash in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The 26-year-old man from Newvile lost control of his vehicle, sheared off a utility pole, and rolled over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An armed carjacking in Northeast Philadelphia ended in a crash with the stolen car bursting into flames and one suspect still inside. A 97-year-old pedestrian, Clinton Rohrer, was killed in Lititz after being struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred on Doe Run Road at 8:25 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending investigation.
